Measuring the Success of the SmartStream System Implemented by the Central Information Technology Office of Belize

Abstract

Because of technological advancements, there has been a need to evaluate the performance of information systems. This study uses the DeLone and McLean’s Information System success model to evaluate the success of the SmartStream system implemented by the Central Information Technology Office. The purpose of this study then is to analyze the quality and usefulness of the software and to determine how successful it has been. This research was conducted via the use of a thirty-one-question survey which was distributed to 35 public officers in Belmopan City. From the results gathered it was concluded that the use of the software has enabled increased performance and goal achievement. Thus, the SmartStream system has proven to be beneficial to public officers as it improves effectiveness and efficiency.
